Hmmmm

Proverbs 26:17-28

17He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.
18As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,
19So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?
20Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
21As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.
22The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
23Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.
24He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;
25When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.
26Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.
27Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
28A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.




This was in my devotional reading today and WOW sure are some strong words. I wonder just how many really read this chapter or just look over it for fear of GOD convicting the heart. I can not tell you how many situations I have been in within the church where this scripture would sure convict some people if they would let it. I wonder sometimes just how people who want to hurt others by GOSSIPING lay down at night and can actually sleep and than claim salvation. In my opinion it is like smacking Jesus in the face saying what he did for us was not good enough because we can't keep our mouths shut and outta peoples business. It is so sad how relationships are torn apart because of one little white lie or because of one bit of gossip than it is festered within than passed on and more and more added and before you know it like a wild fire out of control and damaging peoples lives. Years can go by and those people never get to talk and really look at what happened and maybe both take some blame in order to salvage what is left. Instead the ruins of a once beautiful friendship is left smoldering in the fire. So sad because these same people will not speak to that person here on earth but both say they are on their way to heaven.. hmmm.. If we can't get along down here on earth who is to say GOD will let us get along in heaven? I don't know this really bothers me.. I have just seen so many people stop speaking over the dumbest rumor or misunderstanding and ya know something.... LIFE IS TO SHORT.. make peace and enjoy life while you have it.. Ya never know when your time will be up.. I know there are people I would love to talk to and have an honest conversation and just find out what in the world happened and just talk things over.. but that can never be for that person has hatred and strife and a know it all attitude in their heart so would really only be stirring up more trouble.. So I leave it to GOD and make it a matter of prayer that one day the relationship will be healed and all be forgiven and go on to live for Jesus in perfect accord.. isn't that what the Bible says??
